How do you maintain relaxation of arms and shoulders?

February 1st, 2012 -- Posted in Relaxation | 6 Comments »

When we train, we usually train using focus mitts and pads, and then we spar. To get a snappy, powerful punch, you have to keep your shoulders and arms relax at all times, and tense up on contact.

I notice that I can relax at the beginning of the training, but I involutarily tense up as I get more and more tired. I also have to keep my guard up to protect my face which contributes to the tension of my shoulders.

It seems like relaxing can be more difficult than contracting. Any tips on maintaining relaxation as you get tired?

This just takes time. Everyone goes through this. I don’t know a single person that has trained that didn’t go through this. At first you aren’t aware of it. Later you will begin to be aware of it and have to remind yourself to relax. Eventually you relax without thinking about it. You will grow more tired and sore much quicker until you learn to relax.

Why do I start feeling anxious when I begin with relaxation exercises?

January 2nd, 2012 -- Posted in Relaxation | 2 Comments »

I suffer from anxiety and can never really relax. I wanted to try some relaxation exercises. My therapist said that I should chose a time of the day when I feel most relaxed (doesn’t have to be 100% but more relaxed then at other times) otherwise it will be diffcult to do it. So I tried that but as soon as I start the CD my anxiety kicks in. Which isn’t helpful..any idea what to do about that?

Sprawl out on the ground.. Anxiety doesn’t even let me out of bed sometimed. If you reach for the sky, a head rush will sometimes follow. Embrace the head rush until your heels drop. The cause might be that you’re thinking about the event you planned for yourself. Its like the excitement of throwing a party and the anxiety of wondering if everyone is having a good time. Its planned but you’re just doing it.

How does flexibility relate to relaxation?

December 16th, 2011 -- Posted in Relaxation | 1 Comment »

In flexibility classes there is often a relaxation component and in any meditation classes there is often a stretching component. Why do they go hand in hand?

I would like to advise you to consult with your doctor as this is critical issue.

Relaxing Music Therapy – Relaxing music aquarium

December 6th, 2011 -- Posted in Relaxation | 13 Comments »

Relaxing Music Aquarium Therapy For Stress Relief
Relaxing music therapy is a very potent phenomenon.
Sounds can soothe you, fire your imagination, bring you to the heights of ecstasy or bring you down to the depths of your soul.

Music is known to relax and to help in stress relief. In the right manner, music can bring lightness into a serious situation.
Relaxing music therapy can heal, soothe and bring calm tot an agitated mind.
Defining “relaxing music” seems a matter of personal choice. Some people find the serene sounds of the waterfall and chirping birds relaxing while others relax with their favorite hard rock.

How Does It Work?

The therapeutic effect of relaxing sounds seems to have a scientific definition of its own.
When the human brain is relaxed it produces more alpha brain waves.
When a person is stressed out, his brain produces more beta and theta waves. Beta and theta waves are faster changing brain waves than alpha waves.
Within the fight-or-flee logic of a sudden stressful situation, the human brain processes seem to speed up to act faster. This can be helpful in short, specific moments, but it is counter productive when it becomes a chronically state of being.
A relaxing tune can help with its sounds typically rich in frequencies that are similar to our alpha type brain waves.
The mind is always open to suggestions and thus when a person is agitated or tensed, relaxing sounds, rich in alpha like frequencies, can actually bring brain frequencies down from theta to beta to eventually alpha brain waves, changing the overall mood of the listener during this process.
It’s a scientific fact: A relaxing melody can help a person to get at ease. When a person listens to a piece of music that he finds relaxing, he can focus on that, forgetting his agitation and tension. His/her breathing slows down a well as the heart rate and blood pressure.

Name That Fish Game

the way to play is simple. When you see a fish you reconize just type in the comments section the time you saw the fish, what area on the video you see it (because there are more then one fish on screen at a time) and the type of fish it is.

Example you see a tuna at 3:10, simply type 3:10 Tuna bottom right of the video.

How many species of fish can you name?

Have fun and tell your friends!

Big thanks to

I know I said I dont want to use music in my videos and I now stand corrected. I was in a situation where i had no choice but to get poor audio. So now i have a few videos that will need music for them. If you are interested in being involved please email me.

At the end of a hard day, could you use a little relaxation? If you’re the type of person who finds it hard to let go, why not try experiencing the soothing sounds of water? Listening to a waterfall can help you to ease tension and finally relax after a stressful day.

Not only are waterfalls beneficial for relaxation, they can also help to improve your concentration and meditation exercises. Waterfalls are involved in the practice of Feng Shui, as one of the elements of the Chinese art, and allegedly bring an individual’s room good luck and easily flowing positive energy.

Do you have trouble sleeping?
White noise is a type of noise that is produced by combining sounds of all different frequencies together. If you took all of the imaginable tones that a human can hear and combined them together, you would have white noise. The adjective “white” is used to describe this type of noise because of the way white light works. White light is light that is made up of all of the different colors (frequencies) of light combined together (a prism or a rainbow separates white light back into its component colors). In the same way, white noise is a combination of all of the different frequencies of sound. You can think of white noise as 20,000 tones all playing at the same time.
